How Long Will AI Computing Power Keep Growing?

1. Organizing My Thoughts – Growing Your Assets
I have about 80 million won in capital and I want to use it as a seed to grow my wealth.
Warren Buffett gave this answer about 30 years ago in an interview when asked how to make a lot of money.
“Buy stocks of companies that consistently increase their productivity”
It’s such a clear answer. Before diving into complex quant analysis and trend analysis, you need to ask a fundamental question first. How does money grow?
2. The Math of Productivity – How Much Are You Making Per Hour?
I want to lay out my thoughts here first.
People try to live productively while working. That ‘productivity’ encompasses many things. It’s not just that I invest 1 million won and see 10 million won in returns—
Let’s say my monthly income is 2 million won and I work about 40 hours a month. Then my hourly productivity is simple. 2 million won ÷ 40 hours = 50,000 won per hour.
But can you keep living this way for your whole life? Of course, the sense of accomplishment and all those other interconnected factors aren’t what I’m talking about here. What I want to say is, there are a lot of people living much more efficiently, using their time and abilities way better than you do.
And there are tons of amazing companies created by those kinds of people. Tesla, Google, Amazon—just thinking about it right now, there are so many companies like Nvidia, TSMC, Meta.
These are companies where people who’ve learned a lot and maximized their productivity work hard, and their operating profit margins hit tens of percent every year.
3. The Magic of Compound Interest – When You Invest in Big Companies
What if I just invested my money in those kinds of companies?
Just looking at operating profit margins alone, you can make at least 10% returns. Your seed might be small, but if you grow it:
10 million won investment → 1 million won annual returns
1 billion won investment → 100 million won annual returns
If you invest 100 million won for 3 years, it’s simple arithmetic at 300 million won, but when you think about compound interest, it grows way more.
4. The Conclusion – Money Grows When It Moves
What I want to wrap up here is, you shouldn’t just hold your wealth—you should grow it.
